Why The Utimate Router Base System Is The Only Router Base Your Shop Will Ever Need
Imaginlay’s Ultimate Router Base System gives you more control and increases safety and stability on any handheld routing operation. It turns your router into the ultimate tool in your shop!
This system helps you produce accurate, perfectly-matched curved joinery, large inlays and dead-centered inlays over a seam easily and every time. It’s perfect for any professional or hobbyist woodworker who wants to add new dimensions to their creations simply and safely.
With this one router base system, complex shapes, circles, curves and inlays can be quickly and accurately made, saving you time and money.
The extra-large, optimally-sized offset extended router base measures 17-3/4” L x 8-5/8” W x 5/16” D and is made of high grade anodized aluminum, which is strong and lightweight and eliminates flexing.
The design adds surface area to your router base for greater stability, safer operation and more controlled cutting. Our high machining tolerance avoids slop or wiggle that is sometimes found between a router base and standard template guides.
The Ultimate Router Base System is the only router base your shop will ever need.
Here's Everything You'll Get When You Pre-Order
The Ultimate Router Base System Today...
Universal mounting holes to fit most routers, with plenty of room to custom mount your own brand and accessories.
Extra thick 5/16” anodized aluminum base that eliminates plate flexing for more accurate cutting.
1" O.D.Template guide with extra-large 1-1/2” & 2" removable bushings, to offset a ½” router bit to either side of cutting seam, much like smaller inlay bushing kits. But ours is supersized for larger work like table and desk tops.
½” parallel drawing disk draws perfectly parallel ½” offset lines from the cutting edge, which aids in precise layout and lets you accurately precut excess material.
Machined to high tolerances: our system is made by the same manufacturer, all components fit perfectly, with no slop or wiggle.
Centering pin and flat bottom counter sunk mounting holes with over-sized bore let you perfectly align any template guide and router.
Large removable center disk maintains safe and stable cutting when using large-diameter router bits.
Universal mounting holes at the perimeter of the plate let you make a quick attachment to another surface when creating a temporary router table, or when adding leveling skids or a shim sheet.
Center and Fence slots for quick and easy custom add-ons like adjustable fences, or use for circle, large radius and oval cutting.
Ours is the only offset router base that accepts any standard PC 1-3/16” template guide for increased stability and safety.
2 mounting bolts with thumb screws
1” O.D. template guide (standard, PC 1-3/16” socket) and 1-1/2” & 2” O.D. bushings (2" not shown)
Allen wrench and Mortising self-centering pin guides
"The router is my favorite tool (I have over 50 of them). After Scott's AWFS class in Vegas,
I realized that putting different options into one base is a great upgrade over the standard base." - Jeff Krabbenfoft, Iowa
"After Scott showed us this base while teaching at the Chippendale School of Furniture,
I knew this would be a game changer and help our students work safer, and with more control."- Anselm Frazer, Scotland
"The longer offset gives much, much better router stability when doing edge work."
- Fred Grosse, Virginia
"This will make all my router operations much safer. Plus, the base has so many features all in one. I saw this in action at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking and I pre-ordered it on the spot." - Greg Zjnada, Illinois
Frequently Asked Questions
"If I pre-order today, when can I expect my Ultimate Router Base System to arrive?"
We're targeting a first manufacturing order in the Fall of 2017. As a Founding Member, when you pre-order your Ultimate Router Base System on this page, you should expect your Ultimate Router Base System to arrive sometime in November, 2017.
Note: If you choose to wait until our next manufacturing run, that's fine, but you may have to wait until after the end of December, 2017 at our retail price. Right now, we're delivering a great product, customer experience, and exclusive training programs for our first 100 Founding Members, and a significant $50 discount off the retail price. After this one time offer the price will retail at $149.
"How is The Ultimate Router Base System better than the base I already have?"
When you're routing an edge with a standard router using most stock base plates, less than half of your router base touches the surface that you're routing. This means the weight of your router is off-center and increases mistakes due to "tilting."
That's where The Ultimate Router Base System comes in. As a woodworker of 35+ years, I couldn't find an upgrade over traditional router bases, so I designed my own.
This Extended Router Base is the first on the market to accept a standard 1 3/16” template guide. The wider router base reduces unwanted router tilting, so you avoid mistakes while increasing control and safety when you're routing.
"What can I make with the Ultimate Router Base System?"
Aside from easier and safer routing operation (and fewer mistakes while routing), The Ultimate Router Base System offers a new world of possibilities with curved hardwood edging with its extra large template guide (also not available any where else.) It can also be easily mounted to the underside of a table to make a quick router table. Your imagination is your only limitation on what you can make. Enjoy!
